Congressman Kratovil and Healthcare

It was announced in the Cecil Whig online edition that Congressman Kratovil can not attend the Democrat club meeting tonight as scheduled. I believe that this is more of a case that he will not attend tonight’s meeting. The house will be voting on their Health Care bill on Saturday and I think that the Congressman does not want to hear from his constituents about their opinion of this bill. The majority of the voters in this district do not want this Health Care bill. But this does not matter to him, he has forgotten that he was elected to represent the citizens in this district; he now represents House Speaker Pelosi.

Congressman Kratovil has already two strikes against him with his votes on the energy and stimulus bills. I believe that with his critical vote on Health Care coming up, Kratovil will be out of the game with three strikes. Folks can claim all they want that the results in Virginia and New Jersey elections on Tuesday were meaningless, I guess that we will all find out in 2010.

We must recognize the similarity between the New York congressional race and our own 1st District where the turn-coat liberal Republican provided a margin of victory to the Democrats.

Also, we must get beyond the slogans of redmeat wedge issues. Republicans candidates must demonstrate a grasp of issues and draw a map for voters to illustrate solutions which are not dependent on government programs.

I think we have a good candidate for the First Congressional District in Andy Harris, lets see if we can take that seat back.

Note - I was asked to post this response for someone.
