Cecil County Blog

The Cecil County Blog is quickly approaching the 4,000 visitor mark. This does not include the repeat visits of some regular readers. The site even had a visit from Romania this past week. Of course most of the visitors are from Maryland, next is Virgina, followed by New York. For those folks that are concern about privacy, the stats that I received do not give individual information. It gives the location down to the city and what cable provider that the visit is from.

I had expected the blog to get busier this summer with the fall election approaching, it hasn't been the case. Just a reminder that this blog is open to all political parties. Even though I am supporting specific individuals this election, the blog is open to all candidates. If you have a link for a candidate or even a web site here in Cecil County that you would like added, please send me an e-mail. If you would like to contribute to the blog, please send me an e-mail and I will give you authorization to post an original story. For some, they are more comfortable in sending me the information to post for them. If that is the case, I would need to know if you want your name attached to the post.

Please keep all subject matter related to Cecil County. For elections, we are providing coverage up to the congressional race. I would like to avoid the presidential race, there are plenty of other blogs to post your opinion on that subject.

Citizens of Cecil County
Emergency Public Forum

The Cecil Land Use Alliance is deeply concerned about a proposed
franchise agreement negotiated by Cecil County with Artesian Water
Company to privatize most of the county’s water and wastewater
systems. The scope of this proposal was not previously disclosed to
the public. The commissioners have allowed a period of only one more
week before they will vote on this proposal on August 19.

The public is invited to attend an Informational Forum on this topic this
Friday, August 15, at Newark Baptist Church, 6011 Telegraph Road
(Rt. 273) off of Glen Rd., Elkton, at 7PM.

Learn how this initiative will impact your pocketbook,
your community, and your environment.
