Holiday Social Fundraiser and Baking Contest

ELKTON Maryland: 23 November 2007

Plans have been finalized for the Cecil Land Use Alliance sponsored “Holiday Social Fundraiser and Baking Contest” at Uncle Bob’s Western Corral at 565 Kirk Road just east of Pleasant Hill MD on Saturday December 8, 2007.

The Holiday Social will begin at 5:00 PM. and continue until 9:00PM. Music will be provided by the well-known Sin City Band, a Texas Swing group, as well as Bluegrass by Mark Unruh and friends continuing until 9:00 PM. There will be free country line dance instruction.

Attendees are encouraged to join our baking contest with $50 prizes for the best pie, cake and cookies.

According to Paul E. Hughes, chairman of this event, “This holiday hoedown is a good place to come and meet, and dance, and spread some holiday cheer. The Cecil Land Use Alliance is a group of dedicated local citizens who are pledged to the preservation of important and essential Cecil County open space while working diligently to promote smart growth in the designated growth corridor areas. Your participation supports makes possible the mission of this nonpartisan group. Come join us; dance, meet new people, and learn more about the Cecil Land Use Alliance”.

Proceeds from this Holiday Social and Baking Contest will benefit the Cecil Land Use Alliance. The Cecil Land Use Alliance seeks ways to responsibly manage growth in Cecil County, preserve our Eastern Shore rural way of life, protect the environment, and strengthen agriculture and tourism as vital parts of our economy.
