"This bill had been twice in the Legislature and failed twice, and the governor decided, 'Well, I'll just pass this law through executive order,' and executive orders are not meant for that. The Constitution prohibits that, and so we were able to go to court to get an injunction," Smiegel said.

I commend Delegate Smiegel for taking on this issue. This forced unionization is strictly a political pay back for organized labor's support. While I generally support the efforts of unions to help and protect their members, this Executive Order seeks to replace an effective voluntary association with a union that requires dues. I view this as strictly a power grab.
